A non-profit, Bible and trade focused K-12 school

Foundations School is a non-profit, Bible based, and trade focused K-12 school. We are unique in our ability to meet each individual student where they are and create a learning program for just them. Every student is at a different place of development and knowledge. We value the different learning styles and work diligently to teach every student in a way that they are receptive to retaining the information.

Bible Based

The Bible part of our program is just that. We teach from the Bible. We do not affiliate with any organization, doctrine or theology, we just teach scripture. This often provokes amazing conversations with our deep-thinking students that often carry over to dinner table conversations in their individual homes. We use Mystery of History as part of our Bible classes. Our students begin each day with positive thoughts, prayers and worship songs led by our student body. At the end of each day, we spend a few moments reflecting on the day and close in prayer before we send our students off to their homes and extracurricular activities.

Trade Focused

We are creating a program that will allow our students to have a chance to explore all of the job opportunities that North Idaho has to offer. We offer a skills day that allows students to explore the trades. Some of the trades that we have explored include plumbing and electrical, butcher shops, log home building, agricultural, farm to table culinary, forest management, blacksmithing, timber, mining, mechanics and many more. Foundations School is partnered with over fifty local businesses and individuals to provide this amazing part of our program. We will be taking college tours and exploring every option that will allow our students to find a way to pursue their passions.

Creating the Program

The Foundations School staff diligently work to create a transcript for each student that will allow them to go on to university or trade school. We have made it part of our mission to exceed all of the Idaho State Standards for Education. Some of our students are taking foreign languages, advanced placement ELA and math classes. Often times life has thrown a curveball at our students, and they come to us behind or with missing core pieces of knowledge. Our staff works with each child to fill in any missing gaps to allow them to experience successes that teach them to be brave enough to take on new challenges. We are raising expectations in a culture that has been lowering the bar for too long. We will challenge our students to be complex thinkers and doers. We will walk beside them as they carve out the path that will allow them to create a life that will bring honor to their families, their communities and most importantly to God. Each day we ring our big bell at 8:00am. We stand around the flagpole and recite the Pledge of Allegiance, observe a moment of silence and then we recite our Foundations School Pledge. “We pledge to serve God first in everything that we do, be a friend to people and live a life worthy of our calling.”

Moving Forward

Foundations School is growing by leaps and bounds. We have plans to open two additional classrooms in the fall of 2025 and bring our preschool program out to the school. Foundations School aims to be a light in North Idaho, serving students from Sand Point all the way up to the border. Starting in the fall of 2025, Foundations school will be able to serve families with children from 5 weeks old all the way up through graduation. We aim to partner with families in growing competent, capable, and God fearing students all the way up to adulthood.
